Since this issue seems to be pandemic to iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro series globally, Apple has now decided to offer free repairs for the affected phones. So, if you, too, are suffering from the receiver’s issue in iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro, you can get it fixed officially from Apple at no cost.
To be able to claim your free fixing from Apple, you would have to send the device to an Authorized Service Provider, arrange mail-in service to the Apple Repair centre or make an appointment from one of Apple’s retail stores.
One thing worth mentioning is that the company is only offering free repairs for iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro and not for iPhone mini or iPhone 12 Pro Max, which according to the company, aren’t affected by the receiver problem. Also, according to the company, online devices manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021 are bugged with the issue, and the rest of the batches doesn’t face this issue.
However, if you have purchased iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro even after April 2021, your device may still be affected by the issue (since it may have been manufactured earlier). The free fixing is being offered globally for two years; however, the company may restrict the repairs to the country where the device was purchased originally.
Also, Apple will be examining the device for eligibility before repairing it. This would be to ensure that there is a manufacturing default in the set and that there are no other issues with the device like cracked screen and others. If the device has other repairing issues, you may also get those fixed against the repairing charges.
