Once the top mobile manufacturer Motorola has launched three separate versions of its latest smartphones, namely, Edge 20, Edge 20 Pro, and Edge 20 Lite. The recently launched Edge 20 range succeeds the 2020’s Edge, Edge Plus, and Motorola One 5G devices.

All three variants of Motorola Edge 20 carry much similar appearances to their predecessors, except for some noticeable changes in terms of the curved-edge displays (perhaps that’s where the name stems from). Nonetheless, the new Edge 20 variants come with improved cameras and top-of-the-line specifications, including OLED displays, large screens, and bigger batteries.

Although the series is only launched in few parts of the world, and we haven’t been able to get our hands on one yet, Motorola has officially released the prices and specifications of the series, and we have round it up for you below.

Summarizing

  • What is it? The latest generation of Motorola flagship devices
  • Launching date? Launched in August in some parts of the world
  • What’s the pricing? Varying prices for different variants

Motorola Edge 20 Series – Pricing and Availability

The official release date for Motorola Edge 20 is not confirmed. The latest flagship device from Motorola has already been launched ins some countries in August 2021 and will be gradually made available in the rest of the countries across Asia, Europe, Africa, and Latin America. This fall, North America may get to see some or all of the variants (still not confirmed).

Motorola Edge 20 Lite is the cheapest of all, starting at USD 415, whereas the prices keep increasing with higher specifications. The Motorola Edge 20 prices start at USD 590, whereas the premium version Motorola Edge 20 Pro comes in at USD 829, with prices increasing for higher specifications.

Motorola Edge 20

The Motorola Edge 20 is the mid-range device between the Edge 20 Lite (most basic) and Edge 20 Pro (premium version). It comes with Snapdragon 778G processor, which was also used in its predecessor Motorola Edge. The Snapdragon 778G isn’t known to be a more powerful chip and is thereby not used by many flagship devices in the market. The Motorola Edge 20 comes within a single configuration, including Snapdragon 778G chipset, 256 GB internal storage, 8GB RAM. The device is offered in three different shades, including Green, White, and Grey.

Motorola Edge 20 comes with a rather impressive 6.7 inches OLES display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The curved edges (standard in all variants of the Edge 20 series) are noticeable and differentiate it from the predecessor.

Other notable configuration for Motorola Edge 20 includes a main 108 MP camera (which is rather same from 2020’s Motorola Edge Plus), an ultra-wide camera (which is also found in Motorola Edge 20 Pro), and a telephoto camera for 3x optical and up to 30x digital zoom. The device doesn’t include any periscope lens, which is kept solely for Motorola Edge 20 Pro. Not to forget, Motorola Edge 20 comes with a 4,000 mAh battery, which honestly doesn’t seem large enough to support a device of this configuration. However, the company does offer a 30W charging capability for faster charging.

-         Motorola Edge 20 Pro

Motorola Edge 20 Pro is the most expensive of the latest Edge 20 series and boosts the best specifications. While the configuration of Motorola Edge 20 Pro is superior to its siblings, it can’t be termed as top-of-the-line specification when we look at some of the flagship devices from other manufacturers. Nonetheless, given the price at which Motorola Edge 20 Pro is offered, it can be said to be an affordable flagship device.

Concerning specification, the Motorola Edge 20 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 870 chipset (not top-of-the-line as 888 chipset), 256 GB internal storage, and 12 GB RAM. Like its sibling, the Edge 20 Pro comes with 6.7 inches OLED display with a 144 Hz refresh rate; however, it also supports HDR 10+, a great feature to have for those who love gaming.

Coming to the camera setup, the Motorola Edge 20 Pro shares the 108 MP primary camera with its siblings, as well as the ultra-wide second camera. However, it does include a periscope camera (which isn’t offered in Motorola Edge 20). The periscope camera provides up to 50x digital zoom and 5x optical zoom. The device also supports 8K video recording.

The company doesn’t officially release the actual battery size of Edge 20 Pro; however, they do claim that the device will last up to 30 hours between charges. The Motorola Edge 20 Pro is offered in 3 different shades and patterns, including Blue and White hues, whereas you can also opt for Blue color covered in faux leather.
